Gallery House Concerts Society
Get into the music!
- TICKLESS CLOCK
Gallery House Concerts Society started with a demolished wall and a purchase of a swack of folding chairs! Now we can seat an audience of 60. Many more upgrades (for example, a tickless clock, 2in of insulation, 250 crochet chair booties, and toilet seats that don’t slam!) make Gallery House Concerts a superb auditory experience.
- WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?
- WHAT TO EXPECT
We host musical acts for an evening of great live music in our home. The quality of artists who have played at our house is amazing (see Images). Often performers will have another show in Calgary the same week and want to round out their schedule.
Sunday shows start at 3pm and all other days start at 7pm. Sometimes there is a local opener who plays 3-4 songs. After a 40 minute-set from the headliner, we break to meet the artist(s) and check out their CDs, t-shirts and what have you. From ‘hello’ to ‘goodnight’ the concert is about 3 hours.
A small feature food item is available with a coin jar for donations. Please feel free to bring your favourite beverage and a snack plate to share.
- TICKETS AND YEARLY PASSES
TICKETS – If you wish to be invited to our home, please click the Tickets button on our Home page. We will acknowledge with date, time, and location. If, three days before a concert, there are no tickets sold, the show may be canceled with the artist’s permission. E-mail us with any questions.
Space can fill up quickly. To guarantee your seat, payment must be received and acknowledged before the performance commences. Book on line, or call/text Jackie to make other arrangements 403 988-3106.
YEARLY PASS – Alternately, you can purchase a Yearly Pass which is listed with the artists under the Tickets button. The pass guarantees your seat for regular shows – at least 12 per year for $300 (The Acoustic Guitar Project concert and the artist’s Christmas dinner are not included). The pass is valid from January 1 to December 31. If you purchase during the year, you only pay for the remaining months. Concerts that you are not able to attend will not be credited back. A seat will be held for you unless you let us know that you are not able to attend. In the case of a sell out, we will try to contact you to determine if your seat will be available.
PREPAID CARD – You may also pre-pay for several concerts at a time. You will be issued a card to be presented at our door. You must still let us know when you will be attending so that we can hold a seat for you.
COMPING Please do not ask if we can "comp" you a ticket. It is not our money to give away. If you are a friend or associate of the artist, or are attending to audition the artist, kindly contact the artist directly who will let us know that a donation will not be expected.
CHILDREN We welcome closely supervised children 12-and-under free of charge when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. An adult donation is expected from those 13 and over.
We encourage any concert attendee to intervene when the activity of another distracts the audience in any way. Shushing is allowed! You are welcome to encourage that person to move to another room in the home away from the stage area.
- NOT FOR PROFIT
Our concerts are not-for-profit events. Gallery House Concerts was incorporated as a not-for-profit society on October 18, 2012. All proceeds go directly to the artists less the funds transfer costs (about $1). Your donation (usually we suggest $25) is non-refundable.
FUND RAISING Occasionally we will organize a fund raising event to assist artists with travel expenses to other events.
- LOCATION & PARKING
Tons of parking on the street or in the alley.
Home address will be confirmed when acknowledging your reservation.
