A mountain top within reach.
To provide Calgary families with highest quality out-of-school time by way of innovative learning, nurturing environments & enriched programming.
Summit Kids began collaborating with Calgary Board of Education in 2009 when we launched our first out-of-school campus at University School. Since then, our unique and one-of-a-kind program has gained three additional out-of-school campuses at W.O. Mitchell School — opened in September 2010; Terrace Road and North Haven Schools — opened in September 2011. In addition Summit Kids also teamed up with Calgary Catholic School District and opened its fifth campus at École St. Gerard in September 2011. We then moved on to developing campuses at École St. Cecilia and St. Vincent De Paul School, opened September 2012. Summit Kids’ newest additions to the family — Nellie McClung and Rideau Park schools opened September 2014 and WHCA Campus will be opening in September 2015. We launched our first ever Preschool program: PBP Summit Steps in September 2014. As of Fall/Winter 2015, we will be launching our first ever child care (daycare) centre: WHCA Start.
In just over 6 years of serving Calgary families, Summit Kids has managed to change the shape of out-of-school environments and has embarked on building a multifaceted, diverse and unparalleled program. Summit Kids strives to provide the utmost quality care for the families we serve. We accomplish this by promoting leadership, peer mentoring, modeling good choices and supporting positive life-long habits. In addition, we provide creative learning experiences through technology, performing arts and create a strong foundation for child-led initiatives. Summit Kids is licensed, accredited, and award winning.
Summit Kids has a fresh, relevant and innovative approach to out-of-school programming. We have developed our curriculum by fostering relationships with various community resources. This enables us to offer an extensive and integrated program that:
- Promotes leadership and encourages peer mentoring.
- Helps children with issues they face – homework, family, peer, self-esteem challenges.
- Models good choices with nutrition and recreation.
- Teaches emotional, social and literacy skills.
- Guides children through problem solving and self-care choices.
- Provides creative learning through technology & performing arts.
- Encourages child-led initiatives.
Together we create a well-balanced and holistic environment that is safe, fun and educational for our children in an atmosphere that creates a strong sense of self-esteem.
